Hi - New user here, would like to record live sound thru my built -in mic or my usb mic in my Macbook Pro. I've connected a sound in contraption to the sound-out contraption, made sure in Preferences that the audio driver is set up correctly, can hear sound thru headphones and see the meters registering the sound. In the sound in pane the box is unchecked to find a file, but pressing the enable record button and play button on the top panel don't result in anything being recorded. What am I doing wrong? Seems like there is something simple that I'm missing. I was able to record something live into Garageband, export it as an Aiff file and then play it in AM. Thanks for your assistance.
Ken
Hi Ken
What you're missing is that the global transport toolbar controls the clock and automation recording.
To record to a sound file you need to create a FileRecorder contraption and use the record button on the FileRecorder's editor to start the recording (after you've selected a file to record to).
Ross.
Thanks - got it working.
