Alright, undoubtedly an idiot question -i run minimal m.mouse set up with a lexicon alpha interface
my work is improvised mangling with ,ahem 'spoken word' spooned atop,to date vocals go through completely separate p.a.-i want to route the gob through A.M. but even though 'lexicon alpha' shows up as source on 'sound in' and 'aux' it wont go in-i have an audible signal but not through A.M. any ideas?
routing vocals through 'sound in'

Hi
Let's take a few steps back and see what you mean by "it won't go in".
Try creating a SoundIn contraption and connect it directly to SoundOut. Make sure "Use Input Sound File" isn't selected in the SoundIn editor. Make sure your Lexicon is selected on the Audio Input and Audio Output pages of the settings dialog. Enable audio.
When you feed audio into the lexicon do you get any levels indicating on the SoundIn level meters? If the lexicon has more than stereo input (say 4 inputs), you could make sure all inputs are mapped to different AuxIn, enable additional level meters in the settings, and also connect AuxIn contraptions to SoundOut. Then see if you're getting level on any of these additional input channels.
Does the lexicon have a control panel/mixer software where perhaps some of these inputs are turned down?
Have you been able to get the inputs working in other software?
Have you tried different driver types (selectable on the Audio General page of Settings/Preferences dialog box)? If you're on Windows you could try an ASIO driver for example.
Let me know how you go with these questions and I'll try to help further.
Good luck
Ross.
Cheers Ross for prompt reply,
I have tried all the above, unfortunately to no avail.
I get no levels on SoundIn or any AuxIn either.
the lexicon gets me a recording in baby cubase and audacity.
Sometimes 'play' in A.M. is not responding-should I re-install
maybe?
Thanks for your help.
Hmm. Difficult.
I don't think reinstalling will help. Especially if Audacity is recording fine.
The two obvious answers are:
(1) There's something wrong with your audio settings in AudioMulch
or
(2) There's a bug/incompatibility with the way AM talks to your Lexicon
(2) is possible, but given that AM shares low-level audio interface code with Audacity this seems not so likely.
Can you post (or email to rossb@audiomulch.com) screenshots of the Audio Driver, Audio Input and Audio Output pages of your AudioMulch settings? that will at least give me a better picture of where you're up to
> Sometimes 'play' in A.M. is not responding
That sounds strange but most likely unrelated.
Thanks
Ross.
