Hi,
I'd like to use a korg nanokontrol to control various parameters on a nord micro-modular. Is it possible to do this using the midi-out contraption?
In Reaper I can do this by setting a track to recieve the midi-in from the Nanokontrol, then I send the track out to the midi output of my soundcard. However, the nord only responds to the nanokontrol when I specify that it should send only to the midi channel that the nord is assigned to.
I've tried to get this to work in AM by routing the relevant midi in contraption straight into the relevant midi-out contraption - but nothing happens... could this be because I am not specifying a specific midi channel?
I can get other things in AM to send midi to the nord - eg: I can get stepbeater VST to send trigger & note data by routing it to the relevant midi out contraption.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Paul
Hi Paul,

Connecting MidiIn -> MidiOut will pass the MIDI control data straight through, so yes, your Nanokontrol would need to be sending on the same channel that the Nord is expecting to receive on.
Alternatively you need to find a plugin that can "rechannelize" the data by changing its MIDI channel as it passes through.
Ross.
Thanks Ross - I didn't think to look whether you could assign the nanokontrol to a midi channel, but it looks like you can do this using the editor software - I'll give it a go and see what happens.
