Here's a common problem I've run into with presets. Often I want to use presets to automate some aspect of a contraption, but not others - e.g. arpeggiator pitches.
The only way I know of to do this is to automate the controls to be excluded from the preset's control. This isn't ideal because you end up with many automation lanes that are mostly unused. Is there a better solution for this? It would be nice if the parameter selections that are available to metasurface were also available for presets as well, but that's probably a lot of work...
The way I see it the problem is not with presets. The problem is that some parameters (pitch sets, patterns) can't be automated. I think better would be to support automating these parameters. I'm not sure when that will happen though. Currently there are no immediate plans for this. I understand it is desirable though.
