I seem to miss volume envelopes a lot in Audiomulch, maybe I am missing something? using the bassline as an audio envelope? Anyway I would love to control gain with snappy fast to slow envelopes.
I was recently wondering how to automate volume on Loop Players. Not exactly related but probably not worth a new thread. I have GGain which will increase the volume of the signal but doesn't reduce to silence (in order to automate fade-ins/outs etc). There's probably a simple plugin out there which will do this, but I just don't know of one offhand.
I would really love to define the envelope shape in the contraption and place trigger events in the timeline. ...cause if I understand your suggestion, it's to draw the envelope itself on the timeline... maybe not as bad as it sounds with cut and paste, I'll give it a try......

AudioMulch's built in SGain contraption (in the Mixers category) will do the trick.
Ross.

Yeah, you can Automate SGain
Another approach is to just use the SouthPole or Bassline as a pattern triggered envelope gate -- perhaps not exactly what you want, I'm not sure.
ok beetween those 2 I have lots of options -i'll try to come up with a little picture to show what I mean -difficult to describe in a text
