Support for multiple outs?

Hi,

I'm using d16's Nithonat VSTi drum machine (http://www.d16.pl/nithonat) and it provides output for each drums. I can run Nithonat fine in AM, but I can only get output from the first two tracks (mono: 1 and 2; stereo: 1-left and 1-right). I want to make use of all individual outs within AudioMulch. Thus far, I haven't been able too. Nithonat's multiple outs works fine in Reaper and Renoise. Unfortunately, I don't have another VSTi with multiple outs to try.

Thanks!

Yeah, it should work. I'll look into it. You could try reporting it as an issue to Nithonat too.

As a result of testing with other plugins I suspect this is a common issue with plugins using a specific 3rd party framework (which has a bug). Try connecting all channels of Nithonat, saving the patch, and then reopening it. Let me know if the outputs work in this case.

Thanks

Ross.

Ross,

Sorry for the delay, but here's what I found: Your suggestion of saving, closing and reopening the file works. However, if I connect Nithonat's outs to multiple-ins of a mixer or matrix contraption, it also works without having to reopen.

So, right now a decent workaround seems to be connecting the VSTi to an 8x8Matrix and route individual outs that way. Connecting Nithonat's outs to, say, a SoundOut contraption seems to be the problem.

Should I go ahead and contact the plugins' developer?

Thanks!

I suspect this issue is due to a bug in some versions of the JUCE framework that many plugins use since I've been able to reproduce the same issue with another plugin recently. The quickest fix may be to get the Nithonat developers to update their version of JUCE, however I'll also implement a fix in AudioMulch. It's up to you whether you want to pursue it with Nithonat but if you like you can tell them to get in touch with me at rossb@audiomulch.com

Thanks

Ross.
