Hi everyone!
When it comes to having Ideas, Im alwasy the right one. Sometimes the wrong idea at the wrong time gets me into serious trouble... Anyway, I let you decide if this stuff is useful:
The possible sets for SothPole.LFO1SynchronousPhase shouldnt be from 1-4 but variablt (eg. 3.65 should be possible) The best would be to put it in degrees.
L/R Input Different Colors or greyscales in the patcher (lol...)
Drums, more than 8 gates. (At least 16) A nice idea would be, the further you stretch the Drum in the properties the more gates will be available. So you can always have enough and not one too much.
In Drums One should be able to delete what hes drawn by marking the activation points with the mouse and pressing delete, like in the automation part. The other way it takes too much time.
Drums: Needs lots of mouse clicks for a beat over 50 Bars and more. Presets wont do, because the Beat sonetimes needs even minor changes throughout the song. A must: use keyboard on drums for faster use. Move around with arrows, use spacebar to activate. And/Or: A way to copy paste or simply drag patterns like in Microsoft Excel. This would help me really a lot!
BubbleBlower. Needs to tell you how long the file is. Graphical display of the file: Can be hidden to save space, may only appear when you move the mouse over (or click on) a specific button and/or when you fiddle around with the Inskip.
Flanger / Phaser... Rate must be in seconds and bars. (clock synchr) Dont like to pull out the calculator every time I use it...
Flanger / Phaser... Sweeps are sinusoidal originally. Triangle=Linear must also be possible. The way the frequency sweeps up and down between the 2 chosen frequencies must be displayed and edited (with mouse like in Automation Mode) graphically.
MGain/SGain should go up to more then just +12 db. Or just make a new Amplifier.
In the Equalizer one should be able to control the steepness of the Equalizer: 6db/oct. 12db/oct. 24db/oct. or variable.
So shoot me if ideas are no good, but it appears to me that some might be quite useful.
A question: Why doesnt the Bar counting start at 0? It would make counting a lot easier.
Best Regards,
Azul
YES! some great ideas there.
Number one for me is coloured leads or contraptions. Also to be able to name everything what you want as well as mixer channels.
The drum most certainly need more than 8 bars. Dragging right to extend it is perfect. Also eack drum track needs a seperate 'nudge', to to move the pattern left or right one step. Delete function sounds cool. I prefer right click drag>highlight>delete.
More channels while were at it too :)
All vaulues to be available in beats/bars but as an option so as to keep current state.
AND another big one from another thread, the option to save groups of contraptions and load into a new contraption. An "Editable Super Contraption". Which will have blank controllers on it so as to assign different contraptions and sources to them, with the ability to use as many as needed. This would be Massive!!!!
and ReWire, ofcourse :)
Super contraption sounds great! What I do is, I Export what I did with a couple of contraptions and use the loop player or Drums in case its Mono. MAKE SUPER CONTRAPTIONS ROSS!!
I also think that the "SetValue" of different sliders and stuff should understand calculations. Forexample if I wantr 1/6 or 1/7 or the root of 2 plus 1 of a second I have to pull out my calculator. Thats not fun, especially when I forgot it at home...
Best Regards, especially to you Ross,
c:\WINDOWS\system32\calc.exe ;)
id also love the drum contraption to work in any time signature i wish. This is paramount.

Already done for 2.1
i really need to upgrade :)
Something else:
Im using the Southpole very often, and am distracted by the primitive patterns that you can lay. In AM 3 Id request a very precise Envelope Pattern similar to the actual Drum Patcher where you can zoom in and other stuff... Also 2 Bars is not long enough.
I think itd be practical to have an additional Volume control at each File Player.
Very Important:
Why are the Drums not in stereo? It would make life so much easier! So please! Next to the "MDrum", please also make an "SDrum".
Best Regards,
Azul
"Why are the Drums not in stereo? It would make life so much easier! So please! Next to the "MDrum", please also make an "SDrum"."
then all your drum samples would have to be in stereo as well.. you can always connect the output of the drums to two inputs but that's just dual mono i guess.
i think a stereo drum contraption would be useful in some situations but i usually like mono just fine.
i think if there is to be a stereo drum contraption then there might as well just be individual outputs per slot.
Yes, Stereo Drums is planned for the future. I'm trying to work out how to make a simple design where you can have separate outputs and/or stereo without the whole thing becoming mega-multiple-outputs patching nightmare -- perhaps something a little more complex in the patcher where you can show/hide the separate outs.
I would like to move away from the proliferation of M... and S... contraptions too. I'm thinking about a more flexible channel management mechanism in general, for all contraptions.
