Hi, I'm experiencing a replicable crash on OSX Yosemite, where if I boot up Audiomulch 2.2.4 and add a Bubble Blower - or a FilePlayer or a Drum, and click "Select Sound File", I'll get the spinning beachball and Audiomulch will crash.

Is there some .log file I can attach to this report, or..?

Basically, every single "load file" inside the actual contraption-building-view of Audiomulch 2.2.4 will crash on OSX Yosemite.

Luckily, Sound Out does allow for saving without crashing. which is nice!

Same here, just upgraded to 10.10.3.

Maybe the Finder was updated and now crashes?

Thanks for the report. I will look into it.

I'm wondering, did this start with Yosemite 10.10.3 or was it also a problem with earlier versions of Yosemite?

I think it's only the upgrade to .3 as I am still running .2 on my laptop and there's no problem. Anyway any idea how long this is going to take to be rectified? The program is currently unusable.

yeah pretty sure new to .3. not 100% only because i've been dual booting back to snow leopard mostly. :)

loop player also crashes.

file recorder does not.

sent email with log.

Hi Ross, any update on this? I have a gig on Sunday and currently the program is unusable. I wrote earlier saying that i'm pretty sure it's only .3 as my laptop still runs it and that's still on .2

I'd really appreciate some help.

Regards, Karen

Hello Karen,

I'm sorry, there won't be a fix to AudioMulch by Sunday. I recommend that you downgrade to 10.10.2 or boot from a back-up. There is a discussion on downgrading here:

HI Ross, thanks for your reply. I used a different computer in the end as downgrading wsa a lot of work and the more I read the less sure I was that things would go smoothly. Any update on this issue?

Thank you.

I've just discovered this problem which seems to be a result of Yosemite 10.10.3

I never had problems with the previous OS

I guess its time to get out the old Snow Leopard machine until this is fixed.

Also time to turn the auto updates off as on my new machine I didn't check that they were on.

Dear Ross,

As Karen, i would like to know if you have any idea how long it will take to fix that bug with yosemite 10.10.3 and Audiomulch?

Downgrading is not a possibility for me as i didn't have any backup done before upgrading.

I have shows coming up and i fear i won't be able to play anything...

Let us know where you're at with this

very best

Julie

Hi Ross,

I realise that you are probably busy dealing with this issue, but could you please post something on any progress or update? It has now been 3 weeks without use of audiomulch. It would be most useful to at least know whether a solution is in sight?

Many thanks,

Karen

Hi there,

first post on the forum. Downloaded the 2.2.4 demo version today and also have the same problem.

Happy to attach a log dump if that'd help analyze the problem.

Cheers!

Hello All,

Here is a preliminary build that may fix the issue (So far one tester has reported that it does):

http://www.audiomulch.com/downloads/am225_beta2_mac_20150613_0441.dmg

Please let me know whether it works for you.  I'd also like to know whether soundfile preview and other functions of the open soundfile dialog are working correctly.

Apologies for the delay in addressing this. There have been technical and non-technical issues in play.

Thanks for the fix, works here as well. Very happy to see an AudioMulch update. Would love to see more. There's definitely still some popularity. People on the MuffWigglers forum recommend it pretty often.

Thank you for this fix, it seems to work!

Students in my class reported the same "opening a file in File Player" problem but after installing and testing the beta in class all is well and working again.

I'm sure this fix was no easy feat. I'm grateful this was fixed with relative speed; at my old company this would have been blamed on the OS and maybe fixed in a year.

I turned off auto updates on Windows back in the days of WinME. I've been meaning to do the same to my Apple machines since the Mavericks debacle; now it is done.

Hi Ross, I'm afraid that I am having the same problem again. I have updated my OS to 10.10.5 (14F27) and audiomulch keeps quiting whenever I try to open a file. I tried reinstalling the last fix, just in case, but no luck. Can you please estimate a solution and approx timeframe as once again I need it for an upcoming performance!!!

Thank you,

Karen

Hello Everyone,

You can now download AudioMulch 2.2.5, which (hopefully) fixes this issue. (There are no other changes, and no Windows build.)

http://www.audiomulch.com/download

I apologise for the delay in releasing this. As many of you know, there has been a beta version circulating for a while. I wanted to be sure that the fix worked before releasing a final version.

Thanks to everyone who helped with beta testing.

Ross.

P.S. I will post something about AudioMulch 2.3 soon.

I was very impatient the last days, good news now. I'm looking forward a new roadmap, too, Ross. Can we support you in something? Audiomulch stays kind, "live" stays ugly!
Surprise us!!!!!

Hi Ross,

Hello Karen,

Whatever your problem is, it's unlikely that it is the same problem that other people reported. (Since everyone else that I've been in touch with had the problem resolved). Is the crash happening when you try to open sound files, or at another time? Are you using any plugins? Do you use the Metasurface in full-screen mode?

Please could you dig out the crash logs and email them to me at rossb@audiomulch.com?

(Crash logs can usually be found by running Applications > Utilities > Console. In the left hand tree under User Diagnostic Reports you should see some labeled AudioMulch. You can right-click and select to email them. You should also be able to find them in as files in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/).

Thanks,

Ross.
