hey all.
i've got audiomulch on both my windows system and os x system.
what i can't figure out is, why on os x, the plugin GUI doesn't come up straight away. it comes up with a native parameters box, then you have to click Show Editor to bring up the GUI. Doesn't do this on my PC :(
any help?
many thanks,
Louis.
Wow I'm on mac and I assumed that was how it was on PC. The extra click can be a little time consuming.
There were a number of technical problems getting VST guis to host inside the AudioMulch main window on OSX. Some plugins would work, and others wouldn't. I may have another try at fixing this, but since I couldn't find any other OSX app which embeds VST guis inside another window I concluded that it may not be possible to do cleanly.
well, REAPER does it perfectly here on OS X.
maybe look into how they might do it?
Thanks Louis, good to know that it's possible. I will look into it. -- Ross
just a quick thought here.
if in the end you can't find a way to implement VST's like in Windows (even though my OS X version of REAPER can), would it possible to have an optional setting where if you double click a VST, it opens the contraption box and the "show editor" window at the same time?
it's a bit of a niggle, having to open a contraption, then open something else again just to see the VST window. if you could make it automatically do it, that might nice as some sort of workaround.
that is, if you can't find how to implement it into the contraption window, because i'm very sure it's possible to do cleanly.
btw, on top of that...
of course if anybody here does any developing on OS X, particularly anything involving VST/AU's, if any of you know how this is possible, i'm sure Ross wouldn't mind having a few suggestions thrown his way :)
it's time like this i wish i knew how to write code!
do you think it would be easy to implement the optional function that i suggested in post #5?
"would it possible to have an optional setting where if you double click a VST, it opens the contraption box and the "show editor" window at the same time?"
I'm going to explore fixing this properly (embedding as on Windows) before 2.1 is released. If that doesn't work I'll consider the post #5 option.
:D ah man, can't wait!
how did this one turn out?
which can we expect for 2.1?
