save file failing after 1 hour 30 minutes

well not exactly, more like 1 hour 33 minutes.

 

i'm trying to create a single track as a soundtrack to a film but i can't get past this time without the save file encountering an error and when i try to do anythnig the program shuts down

earlier than win 7 64 bit memory/ram issue? hard drtive space? what bit depth and sample rate were you trying to record?

i saw another post here about the file size that audiomulch allows - i may drop the but rate slightly and try again.

Just a guess: if the file size exceeds 2 GB it will not work out since both WAV and AIFF files have a limit of this length. If you're recording multi-channel or 24 bit then I guess that puts the limit at around 1:30.

One way around this would be to set up two FileRecorder contraptions and start recording the second one before 1:30 and then stop the first one. Splice the gap in your preferred editing program later. 

There have been requests for supporting broadcast WAV (supports longer files) and recorders that automatically chain to avoid such problems. I am mindful of this and it will probably be resolved in a future release since I'm currently reworking things in the sound file area.

.bwf support would great Ross, seems it wil become more and more standardised with the current push towards accurate crediting/tracking of sales etc. Can store lots of meta-data in .bwf which is not possible in standard .wav or .aif. not to mention the extended file times.
