I just ran into this limitation again the other day, and was wondering what the reason for it is (and if there's any chance it might be changed in the future).
Being able to do the BubbleBlower sample scanning trick with samples of arbitrary length would be amazing :)

A wave form display would be useful too, help you to navigate around the sample.

Agreed. It always seemed to me to make more sense to at least have an option so the inskip slider(s) fullscale would be relative to the length whatever sample was loaded - it could actually make working with shorter samples easier too...
