Hi,
I need to check a few things and need to create a new vst folder without using Jbridge.
My current folder has all vst names with the .32 suffix, which have been created by running jbridge in that folder.
I have set for each vst a preset list using Audiomulch contraption preset manager.
Now: if I set AM to use the new vst folder, where each plugin has a different name ( like 2C-Aether.32.dll changing to 2C-Aether.dll ) AM is not recognizing the vst even if it's the same and therefore doesn't load it's interface and consequently the preset manager = presets gone.
Is there a way to recover that preset list and assign it to the new vst name ?
turnarounds ?
my best and thanks,
Luca
Hi Luca
You can perform surgery on your AudioMulch documents to re-target the VSTs. In theory this should work although I know nothing about JBridge so I can't say for certain it will work.
First make a backup copy of the AM document (of course :)
Then open the document in a plain text editor such as notepad.
Use the find and replace feature to replace all mentions of "2C-Aether.32.dll" with "2C-Aether.dll" then resave the document. It should work.
If you get stuck let me know.
Ross.
Thanks a lot Ross,
this is a great solution and I am very happy to know it exists but I was excited to test the performance difference between using Vsts in native 32 bit resolution compared to them jbridged from 64 bit, so I did all the job manually.
By the way, I have the impression that you get a better performance without any jbridged vst. It is probably too soon to confirm but it looks like this at a glance.
Luca
Hi Luca,
Yes I wouldn't expect JBridge to improve performance -- there is a lot of overhead when bridging between 32 and 64 bit.
