I was wondering if other users have tips for this.
One of the things I struggle with in AM is to give my music a sense of off-grid rhythm, to incorporate groove and pocket into the compositions (ideally going beyond shuffle - having rhythms that breathe)
This can be somewhat accomplished working off the grid on the automation timeline (e.g. automating oscillators to get off-grid synthesized drums), but it's hard to blend manually drawn automation curves with the sequencers in a lot of the native contraptions which are very much grid based. Judicious use of delays can help to slip events around the beat (although it requires some manual preparation), but I was wondering if other users had suggestions/tips/tricks for giving the rhythms in their audiomulch compositions some more life?
Notes in the Drums contraption can be nudged by alt-clicking notes!
Holy crap, I did not know that!
hahaha. yeah, i'm not sure if i was experimenting or actually read it in the help file.
definetly worth knowing! =]
It works the same as in automation. When snap is enabled, alt dragging moves points off the grid.
Another option is to use a higher resolution grid.
And when snap is enabled in the automation alt puts it on the grid. Pretty much the inverse.
